They do not require additional treatments with adhesives, proteins, or silane. The positive charge of the slides electrostatically attracts tissue and cell sections, preventing any loss during staining. They are particularly suitable for cell adhesion in cytocentrifuged preparations and standard Papanicolaou (PAP test) smears.
